Techniques and Applications
Blocking, Striking, and Kicking Techniques. All techniques have associated partner drills. A must for any martial arts practitioner.
Goju Ryu Karate Kata: Gekisai Dai Ichi, Gekisai Dai Ni, Saifa, Sanchin, Seiuchin, Shisochin, Sanseiru, Seipai, Kururunfa, Seisan, Suparimpei.
Kata Applications (Bunkai)
Karate kata has little meaning without working the applications. Here, we take pieces of the kata and work partner drills to make the moves effective.
Jodo, Kenjutsu, Tenjo, and Iaido are traditional martial arts weapon styles from Japan.
50" Staff - We train in the Shindo Muso Ryu tradition, a 400 year old art that is practiced widely today and a favorite of the Japanese police.
Interactive drills with Bokken (wooden swords).
Omori-ryu and ZNKR Seitei Gata.
(Adult and Kids) A few sessions per week will be dedicated to Sparring and more "sport" oriented Karate.
Light, but continuous contact sparring to increase timing, eye-hand coordination, and reaction time. Sessions are monitored to prevent injury.
Focus mitt, crash bag, stretching and kicking drills more applicable to competition.
